Bridles of the Americas
By Ned and Jody Martin
Bridles of the Americas will be published in early 2009. This large volume will include descriptions of the styles and origins of bridles used in South America and Mexico as well as in North America by both cowboys and Native Americans. There will be more than 600 detailed color photographs of bridles decorated with porcupine quillwork, beadwork, and silver, as well as historic photos of such bridles in use. Winfield Coleman has painted several stunning illustrations for this book. There are chapters contributed by Bob Bauver, Paul Raczka and Nakia Cloud Williamson. The previously published American Indian Horse Masks was originally intended as one chapter of this book, so they are companion volumes.
